Privacy Policy

In this policy, Personal Information means personal information about any individual, including employees of the Acorn Eight Oaks Day Care Centre (the "Daycare"), children potentially enrolling in the Daycare, current and former attendees of the Daycare and their respective family members.


The Daycare and the Acorn Daycare Society respect and upholds an individual's right to privacy and the protection of his or her personal information. We are committed to collecting, using, and disclosing Personal Information in compliance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act. In particular, we will not collect, use or disclose Personal Information without consent unless required or permitted by law.


All employees of the Daycare and members of the Acorn Daycare Society Board are expected to fulfill their obligation to ensure protection of Personal Information which comes into their knowledge, custody or control in their capacity as an employee or Board member. To the extent the Daycare or the Acorn Daycare Society enters into arrangements with service providers, agents and contractors to store, handle or process Personal Information on their behalf, our policy will be to require such parties by contractual or other means to provide comparable privacy protection while the information is processed or handled by them.


Any written Personal Information in the control of the Daycare, including children's records, will be stored securely and made available only to those who need to access to the information or as required by law.
